With over 25 years’ experience in the 4WD and motor vehicle industry, Bushtech has developed expedition-grade aluminium canopies for vehicles and fleets operating in some of the harshest environments on Earth. Bushtech’s aluminium wellside (tub) canopies have been proven internationally for many years, now delivering New Zealand’s highest 300 kg dynamic roof load rating, tested to 2.5 tonnes, while weighing less than many plastic or fibreglass ute canopies. They are engineered to be both lighter and stronger.

That same engineering approach underpins the X-Series tray canopy system. While the X-Series is a newer platform, it has been thoroughly tested in Africa under severe off-road conditions, and further validated through real-world use in New Zealand — including sustained off-road travel in the South Island under heavy roof loads.

Designed specifically for serious off-road, touring, and expedition builds, the X-Series delivers a 500 kg dynamic load capacity while maintaining a controlled overall system weight — a critical advantage for GVM management, vehicle handling, and long-term durability.

The Bushtech X-Series is engineered for service in environments far more demanding than those typically encountered in New Zealand, and is fully suited to true long-range, international expedition use — including round-the-world travel.
