Quick Pitch Weathershade Awning - 2.0m Version
Tailored for shorter vehicles. Built with the same world-class engineering.
A more compact version of the acclaimed Weathershade 270 — with a 2.0m chassis length (compared to the 2.57m standard model). Perfectly sized for short wheelbase vehicles like the Suzuki Jimny, yet as seen in the 3rd photo, it’s equally at home on larger rigs too.

9.5m² of Shade – Don’t Let Its Size Fool You
Despite its shorter chassis, this awning still provides an impressive 9.5 square metres of coverage — far outperforming anything else in its class in NZ.
Key Features at a Glance:
Freestanding Engineering Redifined.
The Weathershade isn’t just another freestanding awning—it’s built to outperform. With a massive 6mm thick dual-action folded stainless steel hinge and reinforced, welded rafter arms, its engineering surpasses other freestanding designs. Able to stand firm in conditions that push other freestanding awnings beyond their limits. A drop-down leg is included for extreme weather, and integrated web strapping in the rafter arms allows rapid deployment when needed—but in most cases, they stay stowed. That’s the Weathershade difference.
- Advanced Aluminised Technical Canvas
This isn’t the typical fabric used on awnings sold in NZ. The high-performance aluminised top layer reflects heat and UV that pass through most other awnings—keeping you noticeably cooler in intense summer sun. From beneath, you’ll see another clear advantage: this canvas is completely light-blocking, unlike most others. It’s a serious performance edge and a key reason the Weathershade stands in a class of its own. Don’t underestimate it. More Coverage, Smarter 5-Arm Design
Unlike standard four-arm designs, the Weathershade uses five reinforced rafter arms to create a unique shape with extended rear coverage—ideal for 4WDs with swing-out doors or a rear-mounted spare wheel, especially when adding the wall kit. No other awning delivers 9.5m² of usable shade with such a rapid one-person setup.
Optimised for All Conditions.
Built with overlanding in mind, this awning stands up to the elements. Integrated pitch rods and guy points ensure efficient water runoff in wet weather. (Note: rain gutter kit shown in images is an optional extra. See it here).
The Bottom Line
The Quick Pitch Weathershade 270° outperforms every other freestanding awning on the NZ market. With a class-leading hinge, integrated tie-downs, extended rear coverage, and superior aluminised canvas, it delivers unmatched strength, smarter design, and cooler shade.
Optional Wall Set: A Class of Its Own
Zips in securely — no noisy velcro
Constructed from premium 400gsm South African polycotton canvas
Avoids the “greenhouse” heat buildup seen in polyester or synthetic awning walls
Integrated 370mm PVC storm strip at the bottom to protect canvas and adapt to various vehicle heights
Designed for flexible setup: weight it down with sand/rocks where pegging isn’t possible
Use just one or two panels if needed — not an “all or nothing” wall setup
Final Notes
Quick Pitch’s Compact 270 brings elite-level overlanding gear to smaller setups. It's in a different league from the typical compact awnings found in NZ.
While it's built to be tough, use sound judgment in high winds: walls should be taken down before the awning to avoid wind-related damage — even with an awning this strong.

Caution
We can get up to 200km/hr winds in NZ. Even the strongest awning on market (which we believe this is) will be shredded by those kind of extreme conditions. Always apply common sense and either appropriately secure the awning when conditions dictate, or stow it away completely if wind becomes severe.
