EEZI-AWN BLADE 40th Edition Including Roof Rack
EEZI-AWN Blade – 40th Edition
Celebrating 40 Years of Globally Proven Performance
The Blade 40th Edition honours four decades of unmatched quality, durability, and innovation from EEZI-AWN, one of the world’s original expedition-grade roof tent manufacturers. Hand-crafted in Johannesburg, South Africa, this model is a premium choice for those ready to step up to a world-class product built for a lifetime of adventure.
(Note: some photos may show previous versions of the Blade)
Note: When comparing this model to roof tents marketed as “designed in NZ” or “Australia,” look closer. These are typically generic imports, simply rebranded for the local market, and offer performance similar to our SUB60 — a solid mid-range option. For those seeking truly premium performance, our globally proven brands are in a league of their own, with clear advantages in materials quality, durability, and real-world performance across all climates world-wide.
Why Choose the 40th Edition?
This model is for buyers who value real quality and are willing to invest a little more for superior materials, 4-season performance, exceptional comfort, and longer product life — all backed by 40 years of field-proven heritage on every major continent.
Premium South African Craftsmanship
Hand-Built in Johannesburg at EEZI-AWN’s world-leading manufacturing facility
South African Woven Canvas:
260gsm core-spun polycotton
Dual-layered in key areas for superior insulation and weatherproofing (effective weight: 520gsm)
Traditionally woven in Cape Town — built to last decades, not just seasons
Canvas weights alone mean little without context. This is not Chinese polyester or rebranded canvas — it’s expedition-grade material with a legacy of global performance.
Exceptional Comfort & Practicality
80mm SABS-approved high-density foam mattress — up to twice as thick as those in most NZ-market tents
National Luna LED lighting (white/amber) — permanently installed, with easy interior switch control
USB charging points — power your phone, tablet, or headlamp inside the tent
Insulated aluminium shell — for genuine all-season capability
Rear ladder storage — fits inside the tent or in the included heavy-duty canvas bag
Integrated Roof Load Capability
The Blade features welded-on EEZI-AWN K9 tracks on the top shell. Can be configured to carry:
Solar panels
Maxtrax
Roof bags or gear
The Blade roof rack kit aligns with the shell’s profile and permits longer roof loads to be transported with confidence.
Storm-Ready Fly + Massive Rear Awning
Something the XpeditioNZ team especially loves:
The Blade includes a huge rear canvas fly offering unmatched weather protection at the entry point. And in the event of a windstorm?
The fly can be zippered tight to the shell from inside the tent, reducing exposed fabric, minimizing flapping noise, and protecting the tent from wind damage.
Aerodynamic + Smart Storage
Tapered profile:
Only 160mm at the front, widening to 320mm at the rear — improving airflow while allowing rear bedding storage
Store the ladder internally or separately using the included canvas storage bag
A Legacy of Leadership
The EEZI-AWN Blade 40th Edition isn’t just a tent — it’s a celebration of four decades of innovation, global expedition testing, and elite craftsmanship. Built for those who demand more from their gear — and who understand the value of true, long-term quality.
